I decided not to make my way to London to join in the fun (seriously what is fun about standing in the rain for hours on end?), I had a wedding reception to attend on Sunday evening which was way down in Margate (an hours drive from the part of Kent I live in) so I watched all of the Jubilee coverage I could from the comfort of my sofa eating Jubilee biscuits and wearing a sequin red, white and blue bow tie to get in the mood (ok the tie part isn't true). I was quite surprised at how I couldn't drag myself away from the television to be honest, I was completely wrapped up in it all and I loved how Mary Nightingale was rocking the Zara Pink Jacket I have seen on loads of bloggers........ go Mary, you news reading fashionista you!
So back to the wedding. It was great to see catch up with an old neighbour and friend and her children who moved out of area about 5 years ago and my son had lots of his friends there too, so he had a great time dancing and eating all the sweets from the "pick and mix" table!

Friday saw the arrival of the Boden Breton top which I wasn't expecting until 11th June with its 7 week delay, and after packing away the majority of my winter clothes, it was a very welcome long sleeved addition to my summer wardrobe which got its first outing to the hairdressers on Wednesday. So many readers enquired about this top, it is another item that deserves its own post, so it looks like next week will be busy, blogwise!
The House of Fraser order also turned up (you can see why I enjoyed my week, nothing makes me happier than new clothes!) and I loved everything except the white dress. It just had far too much fabric in the skirt, a problem for apple shaped figures like myself who have to buy a certain size to encompass the big boobs and belly, but are slim on the hips. I felt like I had just landed in the Jungle on "I'm a celebrity" and decided to wear the parachute, so I think I will have to brave the wind and ruin Wednesday's professional blow dry and hot foot it to the Village Post Office later.
I picked up the July edition of Red magazine with its free Jemma Kidd mascara. I haven't tried this brands mascara's before, only the Jemma Kidd foundation, so I look forward to giving it a go when the Chanel runs out (that's if one of the daughters don't pinch it first). You can choose between the mascara or eyeliner, I had to dip deep at the back of the shelf for the one I wanted!
This week I am loving the Space NK sale as will any Diptique scented candle fan with this Mediterranean Coffret, half price at only £30!
Was £60 now £30 buy here.
The Marks and Spencer sale started yesterday and I managed to get some new underwear and pyjamas for my son, and a new holiday kaftan has been ordered for me! Such a bargain at £12.50 and as we are staying in an apartment which overlooks one of the complex's three swimming pools, we don't have to walk far for a spot of sunbathing. Couple this with the "hand luggage only packing challenge" I face this year, I can wear this every day to pop over my swimsuit and can leave the usual selection of daytime shorts and t-shirts which are only worn for a matter of minutes each day, at home. It is sheer so will be very light weight to pack.

View all sale here.
The June birthday celebrations start tomorrow with my eldest daughter Chloe, who will be 23! Where does the time go exactly? We have a shopping trip to Bluewater planned (I love to assist my girls spending their birthday money) and are going to have lunch at Jamie Oliver's new Italian restaurant there (if you have been, let me know what it's like). Good food and retail therapy is a winning combo for me and the "big girl"!

| Courtenay aka Uni Girl |
On Sunday, Uni Girl comes home and can no longer be called Uni Girl as she has now finished her degree. It seems like only yesterday I was crying my eye's out as I left her a 2 hour drive away in Colchester at the University of Essex and now I feel sad for a different set of reasons. Sure it will be lovely to have her back home (I am at my happiest when we are all together) but I know how upset she will be to leave this life she has built for herself and all the friends that have now become so dear to her and with a one way ticket to Ayia Napa the week after her Graduation at the end of July, I can't help but wonder what the future holds for this gorgeous girl. The 2nd of my 3 daughters, Courtenay was relieved of her "middle child syndrome" duties at the age of 9 when my son was born, but somehow it seems like they never left, there is a vulnerability about this one, that the others don't appear to have . On the 18th of June she will be 21, so the present buying and planning for the day is now in full swing and you may remember from this time 2 years ago when Chloe was 21, we certainly pull out all the stops when one of our girls "comes of age".

| If only they were still like this! |
Little Man isn't back to school until Tuesday and then we will be on the countdown to the summer holidays and hopefully some improvement in this ghastly weather but today I shall leave you with some sunshine thoughts and share with you some beautiful imagery from the new Louis Vuitton lookbook I received yesterday, shot on location in Mexico!
