Boden Breton

As you all know, my deep love of all things striped and Breton inspired was only ignited further with this seasons Boden Breton top, which I finally ordered at the end of April, blogged about here and consequently had to endure a painstaking 7 week wait for its arrival, with some followers even tweeting me to see if it had arrived yet and if I was pleased with it!

It actually arrived 10 days ahead of schedule on 1st June and with the sunless summer we have endured thus far, it has secured its place safely amongst my short sleeved hot weather offerings which have hardly seen the light of day as yet.

When it comes to Stripes, I have to break all my own fashion rules, I know I shouldn't wear them, but I love them just a little bit too much!

The Breton is lightweight enough to wear alone when the days are a bit on the muggy side and no sunshine is evident, and will layer perfectly under a chunky cardigan or knit come Autumn.

I understand that there was an article in the Sunday Times regarding Boden and its quality but I haven't read it.  I have bought nightwear and swimshorts for my 11 year old son from the Brand for many years and have always been pleased with my purchases.  The Breton is no different, I am happy with the fabric and the finish on the garment.  I just need to order the candy stripe one now......

Breton Top £25. Available in 7 colours.

Photo: Look out tomorrow for this Boden article

Did anybody read the Sunday Times article? If so please let me know what you thought and what was being said about the brand, especially as this is my first but hopefully not my last "grown up" purchase!

  2. I love my breton too. I think the quality is good. the cotton is fairly lightweight but robust and I have already washed and tumble dried mine at least half a dozen times with no ill effects. I buy a fair bit from Boden and have always been happy with the quality. That's kidswear and women's wear. My husband says the men's clothes are too girlie for him!

  3. I've never bought adult clothing from Boden but I have to say that I've bought quite a lot for my boys which has passed down from one to the other and still has lots of wear left in it. Definitely the best brand for durability.

  7. I love Boden when they get it right. I just picked up a white linen shirt in the charity shop with the Boden label still on.

  8. I didn't read the article and buy a lot from Boden. However, their sizing has become so unpredictable these days. I spend a fortune sending things back from Spain. And I have read quite a lot of negative reviews lately. It seems ever since Johnnie Boden expanded into America, quality etc has decreased. I must say quality has decreased from about 7 years ago when I first bought from them.

  9. The candy one caught my eye when I was browsing as well but I didn't buy. Like you I love stripes but I must impose a ban on myself as I found another two stripy jumpers today which brings my grand total of stripy jumpers to 11 so far. I need to stop.

  10. I love a good stripe. Read the article which was more about their so called yummy mummy following wanting a different image and how next seasons collection reflects that. Less about quality issues.
