Gore-Tex Boots from Clarks.
When I was contacted by Clarks and asked to review an item of footwear from their Gore-Tex collection, I was initially a little hesitant. I had visions of a selection of Hiking Boots and Trainers not really befitting of someone who is still trying to be stylish in her late forties and with no plans to go trekking up Mount Snowdon any time soon, I didn't think there would be anything suitable, but I am so glad I took the time to take a look!
The Gore-Tex range offers a small selection of fashion forward boots with the added benefit of being both waterproof and comfortable, as well as stylish. Being as I already have a pair of long black boots, I chose the dark brown Neeve Ella GTX with their distinctive British heritage feel and was impressed to find that Gore-Tex technology means that feet stay dry as well as having the added benefit of Active Air cushioning underfoot, perfect for when you feel only your wellies will do, but you want something warmer and far more comfortable.
Living on an unmade road means that these boots are perfect for the pot-holes and puddles I encounter almost daily during winter and although I never had myself down as a "performance footwear" type of girl, the more I read about the underfoot air pockets which compress on impact to absorb shock and how they then expand to their normal shape to return energy, I couldn't wait to take these babies out for a test drive, and a short cut to the village post office provided me with enough different underfoot conditions to really test out the comfort factor and I wasn't disappointed, as these are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever worn and being as I spend 99.9% of my time in flats, I don't say that lightly!
I now consider these babies to be the "Land Rover" of my footwear collection with their inbuilt terrain response system (I made that up but it sounds good, no?) which will see me through many off pavement situations as well as ice, sleet, snow and rain, and I just know we are going to have a wonderful, comfortable and non slip winter together!
I'd love your thoughts on these fab boots and you can see the Gore-Tex collection here.

oh they are lovely x
ReplyDeleteI love those boots. Spotted them amidst your pics a few days ago. They're such a stylish and clearly way more comfortable alternative to the welly boot. They look great, may you get many happy years of wear in them!
ReplyDeleteThanks honey, agree they beat a welly boot hands down for the comfort factor but with all the welly benefits!
DeleteI need those I'm my life for dog walking & rugged off roading. The inbuilt terrain response system sounds the bees knees xx
ReplyDeleteHa Ha I made that bit up, but it is very fitting! I shall be taking Albert down the beach in these later! Honestly Kate, so comfy it's unreal!
DeleteThose look fabulous! I needed those for my bonfire night festivities.

Oh yes I had them on last night!
DeleteThey look great on you! Still laughing at you calling them the "Land Rovers" of your shoe collection:)

I'm a bit like you. I pooh-poohed the idea of buying a pair of boots from Clarks. After years of trying to find a pair that's comfortable for my daughter, I took a chance with Clarks and Lil L declared it was her most comfortable boots.
ReplyDeletethey also have a fab pair of biker boots on their website I want!
DeleteOMg your review is fantastic! You should get a job interpreting statistics :-) No, really they look like they do the job and more.
ReplyDeleteI could do with a well paid job, so perhaps I should go into stats! Bit old for a career change!
DeleteGreat review - love the Land Rover description!! I think if we have another harsh winter like last year then these boots will be on the top of my list as I live down a narrow hilly lane - even my winter tyres struggled!

They would be perfect for you honey and I honestly highly recommend xx
DeleteHmmmm, I have to say that as I get older I do love a pair of Clarks for their comfort factor, and these days they have some fab fashion-forward designs as well, but I'm afraid I'm not loving the Goretex boots, honey -not for me, I'm afraid. But hey, it would be a boring world if we all like the same things, wouldn't it ?! xx
ReplyDeleteIt sure would honey! They had a lovely black pair but as I already had black boots opted for this style and they are perfect for walking the dog and give you all the benefits of a welly but with much more comfort! x
DeleteHi Sharron,
ReplyDeleteNew on your blog :-)
Clarks.... this name rings a bell to my ears!!! But the Clark shoes I remember - though trendy at that time - were not really appealing. These boots are, definitely. Perfect for a casual look in winter (paired with cordroy jeans, a large wool sweater and a silk scarf maybe - for the touch of flair). Thanks for this great review. I'll pass though... Wouldn't wear them much in Florida!
See you,
Anne (Playing With Scarves)
They look great! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh I quite like them, I love the heritage look for them and they'd be perfect for our Autumn especially walking the dogs and things. Great review!xx
ReplyDeleteI don't actually need any and the word gore-tex usually has me screaming running away from footwear but you are wearing these with great aplomb and style. You've certainly got the country look down to a tee with these and I believe you about the warm and dry - they look like they do the job. I have a nosey in Clarks every now and then - it's not a first stop for places to go when I am looking for footwear but they are certainly pulling out the stops just recently.
ReplyDeleteI bought a pair of Gore tex ankle boots in Clarks sale last year and I have to say they've been my best buy yet. I nearly couldn't wait for the colder weather to come round so I could dig them out again and they're as comfortable as I remember. Perfect for walking kids to school, standing on a football field sideline or going shopping. I would highly recommend them.
ReplyDeleteActually they look better on than on the Clarks site! Impressed! Love the Land Rover quote - So much so I have put in on my facebook page along with your post!
ReplyDeleteHi my dear-these are fabulous, not only do they look super stylish but they are perfect for our yukky winters, I love them! xx
ReplyDeleteThese boots are gorgeous!
