So its official, I am a bag lady for sure (and a shoe and sunglasses one, but we won't go into that today) and although the Anya Hindmarch Gracie isn't normally the kind of bag I go for, much preferring a tote which can fit everything in bar the kitchen sink, this little beauty has its uses, first as either a shoulder or across body bag when you don't want to carry something heavy, but you can take the strap off or tuck it in and use the bag as a clutch, something I am in desperate need of as I always carry something way too big when I go out for the evening, plus you don't always want a sparkly evening bag.
The Gracie first took my eye over at WIT Blog some time ago and I have been smitten ever since. It sold out online but the lovely Harrods customer service people put me through to the concession and I managed to secure a black one, I am in desperate need of black handbags for sure and was shocked that it arrived on the 28th whilst I patiently await my other parcels, which I guess are coming from the warehouse rather than instore. I wanted to blog them all together but since I hastily took these pictures on the day the bag arrived I can wait no longer!
Easily big enough for a small purse, phone, keys, lipstick, perfume and mirror and with a zip pocket and slots for three credit cards, if you can grab this iconic AH piece in the sale, it is a great way to start off a designer bag collection for those who would normally only buy from the High Street and with leather bags in most stores costing £100 or more, sometimes it is worth the bit extra to go for something that you will love and last you years.

The Gracie in Bottle Green was £450 now £225 at net-a-porter.

Mini Gracie in pink from Matches was £450 now £225.

What's in your sales haul?

Lovely - glad you're pleased with it. I haven't done any sales shopping at all, as I'm going up to London for a couple of days with Mum in January, so am saving my shopping until then! Happy 2013 to you and yours x
ReplyDeleteI am a bag and boots girl and this is an absolute gem! You will get loads of use out of this beauty - a great buy. I am very jealous having spent nothing in the sales due to saving for building works!! X
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!! I haven't indulged myself but Laura brought "Valorie" home the other day:) I may steal it some night! Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Okay - I am more than a little in love with this little beauty. Now this one floats my boat - far more than a Chanel would. I like the size and the understated styling. Deep envy. I ended up surfing around looking at loads of Anya bags after this one!
ReplyDeleteA coat from Zara and a new dress from Boden for me.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yur handbags.
Great score Sharron.... I'm trying to avoid the sales, but was lured in at 30% offer on lingerie and skincare! Have a great last Sunday for 2012.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely little bag! I've decided to save my money for my spring/summer wardrobe, except I might look for a new winter coat in the January sales:)
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely - good buy! x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous bag. You are lucky and clever to have got one.
ReplyDeleteHi my dear!! Wow, fabulous sales purchase-I love the chic and minimal styling of it and to get one in black in the sales was definitely a worthwhile investment! Can't wait to see your other bargains when they arrive!! Wishing you a happy new year xxx
ReplyDeleteFab little bag Sharron - can see you getting years of use from it…so classic and stylish. Well done for securing it. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your haul! Avx

The perfect score for you - very well done - it's beautiful! I can see it going on holiday with you too :-)
ReplyDeleteI've totally ignored the sales this year!
ReplyDeleteLove that AH bag you picked out! xx
You are the most stylish 'bag lady' I know! I love your purchases and I want the gracie in hot pink (although the green and black ones would be nice too!)xx
ReplyDeleteLove the bag! A bag lady - woman after my own heart! Stay away from Bicester Village, there is far to much temptation for bags there (It is to late for me, I live to close!). Chanel's feel so unachievable due to their price, it's so hard to save when there's little beauties like this out there at a fraction of the price. On my Christmas list I asked for one of those money jars that you have to smash to open - my aim is to fill with £2 coins, still not sure it will be enough but it's worth a try!
ReplyDeleteGreat bag choice, I am a HUGE Anya fan, I have also just purchased your bag with very much the same purpose in mind as yourself. I am also lusting after a Chanel but in honesty with all the celebs from TOWIE etc constantly in the press with one it has somewhat taken the shine off a bit for me - wondering if you can help as I am a little concerned about my bag. Does yours have the metal gold bow on the reverse, I'm sure it did when I saw it online but it is now unavailable so I cannot check. I feel it is missing the usual Anya touches. Also the leather is not as soft as I imagined or like my other Anya bags - what do you think? x
