Something for the Weekend - Travel Clothing, I heart Donuts & the latest fashion and beauty discount codes!

It's almost Valentines Day, so please forgive me as I have already indulged in something of the heart variety with a cup of tea and very nice it was too, even if a little early!

And whilst I am on the subject of food, I am really proud of my mission to create less food waste by using up leftovers and made up a tasty little dish the other day after most of the family failed to turn up for supper one evening and I found myself with 5 leftover sausages. So to use them up the next day I softened an onion and some chopped peppers in a frying pan. Once ready, I added the cold thinly sliced sausages and a tin of chopped tomatoes and cooked through till piping hot, then added the mixture to some pasta, voila!

 sausage leftovers

Went down a treat with the whole family and what a quick and easy hearty winter supper which you could serve with a green salad or crusty bread. You could of course adjust the ingredients according to what you have in the fridge, maybe a leek or some mushrooms, a wilting stick of celery?

Ultimate travel outfit: TravelSupermarket have unveiled this outfit which allows women to unzip bits of a warm hooded jacket and transform it into a strapless dress or mini-skirt

This week I've been intrigued by the Winter Sun Travel Outfit prototype currently being developed by Travel Supermarket.  If there is enough interest the dual purpose clothing will go into production with children's versions containing a GPS tracker to keep little ones safe. Read the full story about how you can leave the UK warm enough for winter but arrive in the sun dressed for the correct climate here.

  1. Wow S, that pasta dish looks yummy and well done for stuffing in as much veg as you did! I do combine sausages with pasta but usually only with frozen petit pois in a light cream sauce if I happen to have any fresh cream in the fridge or if not, just drizzle extra virgin olive oil.
That donut looks lovely! I've been indulging in cakes too after having to bake stacks for recent celebrations and a tea party for my eldest and her tween friends.
    Have a fab weekend! x

  2. Pasta looks fantastic Sharron - my kids would love it! (and the donut too!). Just bought some MASSIVE fresh baked muffins from Sainsburys so going to have a Friday afternoon treat! I'm trying my best to ignore the discounts but the Elemis and Liz Earle offers have got my attention - I'm so predictable! Have a lovely weekend! xx

  3. Oooh! that pasta looks delicious Sharron. Have a wonderful weekend.Hope you don't get more snow where you are xx

  4. Your pasta looks fab Sharron and I love being able to use up leftovers too! Trying to find dinners to suit everyone is driving me mad lately:) Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Hi my dear!! Yes that pasta dish with sausages and tomatoes is one of our family favourites and those donuts look totally delish! xxx

  6. Had a giggle at the travel outfit - puts me in mind of my mum, who insists on wearing the most vile pair of trousers with zips at various intervals up the legs whenever we travel by plane together. She starts off with them long, when we land at our destination, she whips off one set of zips so they become cropped, and later on the third, to turn them into shorts. I've threatened her with the fashion police on more than one occasion!

Let me know your thoughts, all comments are much appreciated, I know it takes time and effort xx
