Now imagine the sheer joy when I was asked to review a pair of the heritage brands famous footwear, I was chomping at the bit and think I chose my boots in all of about two seconds (not that I had often perused their website or anything).
I knew I wanted black (classic, goes with everything) and felt that I should give the wider fit option a try as I loved the adjustable pair featured in the website's campaign photo's with the contrast panel at the back of the calf, which made my choice a no brainer. I was also pleased to see they offer slim leg versions as I know of as many women who struggle with this dilemma as I do those who need a wider fit.
They arrived last Friday on one of the wettest, coldest and foggiest days we have had thus far this winter and I had been putting off my walk to the village until a surprise visit from the courier, then I couldn't wait to get out and navigate a few pot holes and puddles, a constant winter feature of the unmade road I live on .I have to confess to being really surprised at just how comfortable they are and wonder if this is due to the heel as most Wellington boots I have worn over the years have been dead flat under foot. This unique selling point made me realise why the brand is loved and worn by so many, comfortable and stylish all weather footwear anyone? Yes please!
As Hunter's are now considered an essential piece of fashion forward footwear and an all season wardrobe essential, I can't wait to take them out in slightly better conditions and style them with some more lightweight clothing.
My daughters wouldn't be without their's come festival season, but in the meantime we still have snow in the South East, Pugs to walk along the beach and impending April showers, all of which lead me to believe my new footwear obsession will become a permanent fixture in my hallway!
Could you live without yours?

Lucky you - they are fabulous and oh so stylish. Never thought I'd say that about wellies but Hunters really are. Seeing Trea wearing hers last week with a lace skirt reminded me of how different they are to normal wellies. Enjoy wearing and enjoy boasting about your NEW Hunters to the rest of the family! Avx
ReplyDeleteHi there!! perfect timing for them Sharron, with snowy flurrys, rain and wind they make an invaluable style essential for right now-love the back detailing and the heel, good choice!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI have some (navy)and I want to love them so much but they are actually really uncomfortable on the back of my heel - I do wear them a lot as they are the only pair of wellies I own and at the price they were I am not buying any more .. but I can't walk really long distances in them.
ReplyDeleteThe black looks good and I like the expanding calf detail, that's great!

Having seen this I will definitely get a pair for next winter. I have tried Hunters in the past but there is not enough room around the calf for me to fit in the Hunter boot liners which I think are necessary in cold Scottish winters. The vent at the back looks like the solution. Glad you have a pair of your own at last, and I agree that you have made the chic colour choice.
ReplyDeleteI was given a pair of wellies from a friend in eastern europe, they are really long and slim, so they rub your knees when you walk and they have diamonte straps around the ankle. It was a nice thought, but give me the Hunters any day!
ReplyDeleteI love these, in fact I may even get myself a pair. I really like the contrast gusset at teh back.Lucky you for getting a pair to try out!! x
ReplyDeleteI've had mine for a couple of years now, and they are getting daily use walking Harvey the Hound every day through the forest. Funny how a pair of wellies have become a must have fashion item.
ReplyDeleteI never fully understood the hype surrounding Hunters. A welly is a welly, I thought! However, you've sold them to me! Two things ... LOVE the fact that there's a heel and secondly, I really like the contrast piece at the back. These may well have to go onto my wish list for next Autumn, because I REFUSE to buy wellies in March!!
ReplyDeleteI've worn my Hunters (short glossy black version for my stump legs) constantly for the last 2 years - perfect with my Anya Hindmarch for Barbour coat for that faux country/city look! Global warming - pah!
ReplyDeleteOh my Hunters for those with wider calfs! I'm falling out. I have wanted a pair for so long but they do not fit me. Somebody pick me up off the floor! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI live in mine....they're fabulous......my husband has the expanding ones and they're great too. I haven't had the nerve to wear them in London yet (is that done or not?) :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the new blog header!
ReplyDeleteYour Hunter wellies look fab, We dont have pets to walk. I would own a pair but in all honesty over here it not really worth it.Role on the warmer weather, we did manage to get the outdoor grill sizzling yesterday and sit out with a couple of glasses of wine for Mothers Day.
I love my Hunters. I have aubergine coloured ones. They are a little tall in the leg for me but it doesn't stop me liking them all the same. I toyed with the idea of snow boots over the winter but I figured a couple of pairs of thermal socks and the Hunters would see me good and you know what? They did.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy yours. I like the white detail at the back - just a little unexpected.
In a word, no. I need wellies all year round for walking the dog. I love my pillar box red short Hunter's.
ReplyDeleteMy sister always says that if you have to buy a boring, functional garment you need to spend money and get a good brand to at least feel good about that....this applies to gym kit, rain coats and Wellies. Money well spent in my opinion. Love mine ( better with fleecy thermal insoles though !)
ReplyDeleteI really want some - would be ideal in this useless weather and I see what you mean about the heel. My friend has some in pink but I'd prefer black or red. Like the new sparkly header! xx
ReplyDeleteI love mine. I couldn't be without them - I live on a working arable farm so it can get pretty muddy out there any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI love the adjustable bit at the back of yours, perfect! I might just have to invest in a new pair ;-)
I love my Hunters. Absolute fab in the snow!
ReplyDeleteI even bought the welly socks on offer in TK Maxx for £6.99.
Love the heel and the buckle detail at the back:) With all the rain we get over here I should deffo invest:)
