Frugal February Confession Time

Half way through Frugal February and I crumbled and spent £10.50 on yet another stripe top.

Quite how I stumbled across this bargain is beyond me.  All I can remember is looking for dresses for the wedding at House of Fraser, the rest of the story escapes me, conveniently!
It was described as a sweat top which I think is what drew me in, but it isn't that much heavier than a t-shirt, still fairly lightweight.

Ladies stripe loop back sweat top
Was £35 now £10.50.

Upon further inspection of all things striped and with a couple of items from one of my favourite retailers on my summer wishlist, it appears I could get a couple of the bits I want for the new season from HoF super cheap ..........................

Stripe sweat dress
Was £55 now £16.50

I intended to style a stripe tunic simply with flat sandals and a tote bag but it could of course be worn now with ankle boots and tights like the image above.

Stripe strappy maxi dress
Was £35 now £10.50

A stripe maxi dress never dates and will make the perfect addition to your holiday wardrobe. Wear with gold rim aviators and a tan.

Oversize stripe knit jumper

I only told myself the other day that I have enough jumpers now, but this Linea Weekend number is now reduced to £20, complete bargain, and I don't have a stripe one. How good does it look with the tan brogues which I would also need.

I know lots of you have crumbled already so I don't feel too bad for spending a tenner!  Roll on March and here's hoping the other stuff is still in stock!

  1. i love the linea range, it is such great quality, but since the Hof F in Kensington and Regent Street closed, I don't even know where there is one, and for some reason it's not a retailer I would ever think to visit online. (although I do buy quite a lot on ebay when i see it). Your top is lovely and looks like a much more expensive one than even the £35 price tag, for a tenner it is a steal!

  3. I'm not sure that spending a tenner really counts as a fail (massively swerving on the rules here!!) and I'm sure that if you hit on a bargain like that, it's definitely ok! Loving the fact that you were actually looking for dresses for the wedding :)

  9. I love a good stripey top Sharron. Bought one myself from H&M a couple of weeks ago (but I decided not to join in Frugal Feb - thank goodness!). Love the stripey tunic top - what a bargain! x

  10. Oh looks great with your joggers and trainers! I'm so tempted by the tunic in the grey colourway - more subtle stripes. xx

  11. Well at least a £10 won't break the bank and it is lovely. That tunic is very tempting I must admit.

  12. I think I 've broken mine now too as I brought back a top I bought in January to a local boutique and had to pay twice as much to replace it with a denim shirt! I also bought for the house, but between sickness and weather here I had to lift myself a bit. Great stripe top and I will check out my local HOF when I can.

  16. Great top! I love the dropped sleeves. I was doing well on the frugal bit but I broke in the end. I just needed something beautiful to get me through the grey skies & endless rain.
