Trend Report - Patchwork Denim

I first fell in love with the patchwork denim trend when I saw the editorial in Marie Claire magazine (above) and have been nagging my girls to invest in a pair ever since (I'm far too old to rock this look - sadly).

Patchwork skinny jean
Karen Millen Jeans £99.

However if you are looking for a budget friendly option just check out the HandM version at just £19.99 and if you buy a copy of Aprils Glamour magazine, you get a 25% off gift card - bargain!

Feeling utterly depressed about not being able to wear patchwork denim I spotted a shirt in a John Lewis add?

It was love at first sight and I was hoping it was going to be from their affordable Kin or Collection ranges.

Sadly it's not, its Paul and Joe Sister and not even on the John Lewis website as I type, doesn't it really annoy you when magazines do this or is it just me? I did however find it at my-wardrobe...........

bricole short sleeved colour block shirt by Paul & Joe Sister
Paul and Joe Sister Patchwork Denim Shirt £125.

Sadly it's a bit out of budget but I am sure you will agree it's a great twist on a classic and perfect for warmer weather when your long sleeve option is just too hot.

Oh well on to the wishlist it goes, waiting for a (huge)code, summer sale or high street alternative.

Are you tapping into the patchwork denim trend this season? Would you feel more comfortable in the shirt than the jeans?

  1. Very tempted by the H&M jeans- will definitely check them out. The Gap version were a disappointment - too great a contrast in colour and very cardboard in texture. I have already patched a £10 TKMaxx pair rather well though ... and feel no shame wearing them despite being Old.

  2. you could rock those H&M ones, they are less 'fashion' than the KM, just look like genuinely patched jeans xx

  6. I love the jeans Sharron - will be paying a visit to H&M! Thanks for the tip of the discount card - I saw that the other day and had forgotten about it! xx

  7. I love the H&M jeans but I keep thinking I should have got the pair that they had out before winter and if I get a pair now I won't have had my moneys worth. Though at £15 a pair coupled with the discount, I can't really complain can I? But I think the shirt is a lovely alternative way to do the patchwork trend.

Love the H&M jeans Sharron, I keep thinking about buying them but then think about how many pairs of jeans I've already got in my wardrobe that I wonder if I need another pair...but then none of those are patchwork.....decisions, decisions. 11. I'm with you on the jeans ... I'm definitely too old for this look (*whispers* and don't really like it much to be honest ... sorry!) But the shirts are a different matter. They're more like a colour block. Good alternative!

  13. Not sure about the jeans but love the shirt. My daughter has a part time job at Waitrose which means we get 25% off John Lewis but even with that discount the shirt is a tad too dear.

  14. Love them and I wear mine alot. I think they are the 2014 version of patterned jeans and a great way to dress down a white shirt, crew-neck and trench. So much so, I'm tempted by those H&M ones especially as I've got the discount card! Tesco also have a lovely pair that I shared on FB recently and some of my followers contacted me to rave about them! x
